Well, it's that time again for a new blog post. I am sending out a big thank you to those who keep up with my blog, even though it's probably just my mom who is reading it [in that case, THANKS MOM! I LOVE YOU]. I have some news to share concerning my trip. But First, I must share some other really exciting news:
I AM ENGAGED TO JAMES PASCAL GILBERT III!!!
Ok. Now that that is taken care of ;), we can get on to the recent news about the trip. I went to a training meeting and we were informed that because gas prices have gone up so much, the cost of the airline tickets can go up substantially. The tickets can go up to $1,300. So my initial reaction was: stress. But that is definitely not from the Lord. Bro. Bart was talking about in that meeting that whenever people decide to go on international trips it seems as though the Lord allows trials during that time. In this, I was still of the mindset that it just seemed impossible. In chapel this past Thursday, we sang a very familiar song but it hit me to the core in a very unfamiliar way. The lyrics are thus:
Water You turned into wine
Open the eyes of the blind
There’s no one like You
None like You
Into the darkness You shine
Out of the ashes we rise
There’s no one like You
None like You
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome in power
Our God, Our God…
Into the darkness you shine
Out of the ashes we Rise
There’s no One like You
None like You.
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against? You see, it all became clear for me at the lyric, "And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?" Who is bringing people unto Himself? God is. The Tsachilla are among those that are lost and are against God. They need the Gospel, and will the cost of a plane ticket stop the loving Lord from bringing glory unto Himself through the telling of His Gospel. Never.
May we have full faith and trust in our heavenly Father. And in doubt may we be humbled by His greatness.
